Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic

The Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic (KR) is the central executive body responsible for development and implementation of state policies in the fields of macroeconomics, anti-trust, tariff, licensing, investment, foreign economic, fiscal regulation, public-private partnership, state reserves, economic and regional development, state property management, technical regulation and metrology, as well as development of halal industry, trade, entrepreneurship and optimization of the regulatory framework for business activities, free economic zones. The objective of the Ministry is to ensure socio-economic progress and sustainable development of the KR.

The Ministry of Economy of the KR performs the function of the main political partner of the Integrated Rural Development Programme. The programme works closely with the Office of Strategic Planning and Regional Development within the structure of the Ministry. Representatives of the Ministry are involved in the Steering Committee, as well as the Evaluation Committee of the programme for selection of project proposals among non-governmental and civil society organizations.
