Results of the second Call for Proposals announced in October 2019

The Integrated Rural Development Programme (IRDP) cooperates with non-profit organisations working extensively in the field of inclusive local socio-economic development. IRDP attracts these organiations to cooperation via calls for proposals. The first call for proposals took place in May 2019 and focused on collecting proposals for the development of value chains (VC) in agriculture and tourism.

In October 2019, IRDP launched the second call for proposals that concentrated on creating the  plans of local economic development (LED plans). Applicants submitted proposals for the identification and implementation of projects on creation of enabling business environment and inclusion of vulnerable groups in the process of preparing the LED plans. If a total of nine lots were announced in the call, eight of them covered the projects on LED plans in eight different rayons of the Jalal-Abad region. The ninth lot covered the projects on creating favourable conditions for tourism development in the entire region.

The projects selected in the second call complement the activities carried out by the NGOs of the first call on developing agriculture and tourism value chains as they cover similar aiyl aimaks (AA).

Overall, 27 applications were received for nine lots. Similar to the selection process of finalists of the first Call for Proposals, IRDP has engaged an Evaluation Committee consisting of national, local and international partners. Independent experts on local economic development, representatives of the Ministry of Economy of the KR, the Department of Tourism of the KR, the EU Delegation to the KR, the Office of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Government in the Jalal-Abad region and the GIZ Sustainable Economic Development Programme came together to review and evaluate the NGOs and their project proposals .
