European Union Helps to Increase Income of Rural Population in Jalal-Abad Region

On 5 December 2018, the European Union (EU) and German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) launched the Integrated Rural Development Programme in Jalal-Abad region. The event, marking the official start of the programme, gathered the representatives of international, national and local partners to exchange greetings, learn about the programme and discuss possible cooperation measures.

The Ambassador of the EU to the Kyrgyz Republic (KR) Eduard Auer and Deputy Ambassador of Germany to the KR Irja Berg arrived to Jalal-Abad for the official launch of the programme. The Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Industry and Reclamation of the KR Erkinbek Choduev, Head of Strategic Planning and Regional Development Department of the Ministry of Economy of the KR Aibek Kadyrov and Head of Department of Tourism under the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism of the KR Maksat Damir Uulu, along with the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Government in Jalal-Abad Oblast Kyianbek Satybaldiev and heads of eight district administrations of Jalal-Abad region also participated at the event.

The Programme Leader Kaethe Brakhan presented the programme objectives, methods and mechanisms. Followed by the questions and answers, the official part of the event finished with the visit of participants to the regional programme office located at Aiyp Bulak str., District 122-a.
